CAFETERIA LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the CAFETERIA application. This
Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when
you use our app.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 Venue Profile Information
During setup, we collect:
- Venue name
- City and state
- Venue type (bar, casual dining, fine dining, etc.)
- Estimated capacity range
- Price level category
- How you heard about CAFETERIA (attribution)
This information is provided voluntarily and helps us optimize the system for
your venue type.
1.2 Operational Data
During normal operation, we automatically collect:
- Ambient noise level measurements (numerical dB values)
- Audio intervention parameters and outcomes
- Session duration and timestamps
- System performance metrics (processing load, error counts)
- Device model and Android version
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Audio recordings of any kind
- Conversations or speech content
- Personal information of venue staff or patrons
- Location data beyond the city/state you provide
- Financial or payment information
- Contact information or email addresses
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use collected information to:
- Optimize audio intervention strategies for your venue
- Improve the CAFETERIA system through cross-venue learning
- Analyze system performance and reliability
- Conduct research on ambient noise management in hospitality venues
- Provide technical support
3. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
- Operational data is stored locally on the device in an encrypted database
- Data synced to the cloud is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS)
- Cloud data is anonymized — no venue names or identifying information are
included in synced intervention data
- Local data is retained for 90 days, then automatically pruned
- We use industry-standard security measures to protect stored data
4. DATA SHARING
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties except:
- Anonymized, aggregated research data may be published in academic or
industry reports
- Service providers (Supabase) who process data on our behalf under strict
confidentiality agreements
- When required by law or legal process
5. YOUR RIGHTS
You may:
- Request deletion of your venue profile and associated data
- Disable cloud sync in app settings
- Uninstall the app to stop all data collection
- Contact us for a copy of data associated with your venue
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
CAFETERIA is a B2B application designed for commercial venues. We do not
knowingly collect information from children under 13.
7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app
after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
